A volcano in the southwest part of Iceland continues to erupt. It started on Monday Dec. 18 near the capital of Reykjavik. This is called a fissure eruption where liquid lava and ash come up out of the ground and they are not spewed into the air, which could cause travel and breathing problems. Thousands from a nearby fishing community have been evacuated.
